Personalized weight loss program for seniors with Medicare

A compounded medicine is a custom-made medication prepared by a pharmacist to meet the specific needs of an individual patient. It is created by mixing, combining, or altering ingredients to:

• Provide a medication that is not commercially available
• Tailor the dosage or form to the patient’s needs
• Eliminate unwanted ingredients, such as allergens

Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. This means that FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness or quality of compounded drugs.

MDWatch offers a virtual care program that supports weight management through a comprehensive, provider-guided approach. Participants receive personalized care from licensed healthcare professionals, including regular virtual check-ins and metabolic lab testing. If medically appropriate, compounded GLP-1 medications may be prescribed as part of a broader care plan that includes nutritional guidance, lifestyle strategies, and ongoing support. The compounded GLP-1 medications provided through MDWatch’s Weight Loss Program will only be available to patients pursuant to a prescription and only to those who medically qualify after consultation with a healthcare practitioner. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. This means that they have not undergone review for safety or efficacy before being dispensed and have not been demonstrated to FDA to be safe or effective. Novo Nordisk Inc. and Elil Lilly and Company are currently the only companies in the U.S. with FDA-approved products containing Semaglutide (Rybelsus®, Ozempic®, and Wegovy®) and Tirzepatide (Zepbound® and Mounjaro®), respectively. • GLP-1 Medication: Convenient access to GLP-1 medications delivered right to your home.
• Weight Scale: A cellular scale for remote monitoring of your weight loss progress.
• Optional Continuous Glucose Monitor: Optional Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) for remote monitoring of your blood sugar levels. Vitals Monitoring: Review your scale or CGM data daily to detect any concerning trends. If an out-of-range value is found, our MDWatch providers will reach out to check in.
• Chronic Care Management: An assigned health coach to check in with you monthly by phone. A comprehensive care plan will be developed to provide quick access to your medical history and health goals, along with strategies to achieve them.
• Monthly Follow Ups and Education: Monthly video follow-up appointments with a dedicated nurse practitioner to discuss any health changes and review your progress, helping you understand your results and receive personalized care for your weight loss journey.
• Patient Application: Access to the patient app to track all your vital measurements in one convenient location and securely message your assigned care team.

All prescriptions are determined by a licensed healthcare provider following a clinical evaluation. Medications are delivered directly to your home for convenience. We may use a variety of tools to monitor your progress, including a cellular weight scale or optional Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) devices like Dexcom or Abbott FreeStyle Libre, which provide real-time glucose data. Additionally, we track your health through monthly video consultations and regular health data monitoring.

You will be paired with a health coach who will check in with you monthly via phone. Together, you will create a comprehensive care plan that provides you and your providers with quick access to your medical history, conditions, and health goals. This plan will include specific strategies to help you achieve your health objectives.

During your monthly calls, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss any changes in your health, care plan, or lifestyle. Your health coach can address any concerns and work with your care team to ensure everyone is updated on your progress. They will regularly reach out to discuss any health issues you may have, such as your exercise habits or medications. The coaching team has extensive experience in helping patients set and meet their health goals, and your coach will track your progress along the way.

Insurance Coverage: Most patients benefit from our services being majority covered by insurance, which lowers out-of-pocket costs and makes quality healthcare more accessible.

Most Medicare patients receive significant coverage for MDWatch’s program and services, including chronic condition management, coaching, and virtual consultations. As a courtesy, we will verify your insurance benefits before enrollment to estimate any out-of-pocket costs for these services.

If medically appropriate, compounded GLP-1 Core medications may be prescribed. These medications are not covered by Medicare or private insurance. Eligible patients may pay as little as $90 for a 4-week supply.

Note: The $90 pricing applies to patients outside of California. For California patients, the price is $129 for a 4-week supply.

Yes, you can choose to pay out of pocket if you prefer not to use your insurance. However, we encourage you to check your Medicare benefits first, as our program is designed to be mostly covered by Medicare, which can save you significant out-of-pocket expenses.

Yes, monthly video visits are crucial for monitoring your progress and ensuring your treatment plan is effective. During these consultations, your dedicated nurse pratitioner will review your progress, adjust your medication if needed, and provide ongoing support. This regular check-in helps maintain optimal weight loss management.

Our dedicated medical team will closely monitor key indicators, including Complete Blood Count, Complete Metabolic Panel, lipid levels (cholesterol and triglycerides), TSH, and HbA1c. This comprehensive evaluation is designed to identify any underlying liver, pancreatic, kidney, or thyroid issues before starting treatment.

We’ve partnered with Quest Diagnostics nationwide to make the process easier for you. Once your lab work is ordered, we’ll notify you and send a convenient link to schedule your appointment at a time that works best for you. Lab work will be completed every 6 months while you’re on the medication.

MDWatch partners with trusted third-party pharmacies—TruMedsRx, VIOS Pharmacy, Rite-Away, and Strive Pharmacy—to deliver medications directly to patients. If you prefer, you may also have your prescriptions filled at a local pharmacy.
